How to link a domain to Gosuslugi: a step-by-step guide

Linking a domain to Gosuslugi confirms that you are the one who administers the domain. In essence, it is a cross-check of your details against the registry records. If everything in your details is in order, the procedure is straightforward and takes little time.

Which account you need

To link a domain you will need a verified Gosuslugi account (ESIA) – the exact level at which your identity has already been confirmed. A simplified or standard account is not enough here: the system must unambiguously match the domain owner with a real person or organization.

  • for an individual – a verified account in your own name;
  • for a sole proprietor – a verified profile with a current tax ID (INN);
  • for a company – access to the organization's account and representative rights.

Check in advance that the full name, tax ID (INN), and contact details in the profile match those listed in the registry for the domain. This is the key condition; the requirement for domain administrator identification is set out in Federal Law No. 569-FZ.

Steps to link the domain

The linking process itself is logically structured: you open the relevant section, confirm your rights to the domain, and complete the cross-check. Each step is clear, and you can see the status at every stage.

  1. sign in to your verified Gosuslugi account;
  2. open the section related to confirming rights to the domain;
  3. enter the domain and check that the administrator details were filled in correctly;
  4. confirm the link and wait for the system to verify the details against the registry.

If everything matches, the status changes to confirmed without any further action. It helps to check against the registry records in advance – there is more on this in the article on manual identification review.

Important If the full name or tax ID (INN) in the profile and in the domain details do not match, the request is automatically sent for manual review. This is not a rejection – the system simply could not match the data on its own and passed it to a specialist.

What to do during a manual review

If a request has been sent for manual review, there is no need to rush or submit it again. First, calmly identify the cause of the discrepancy and bring the details into a single, consistent form.

  • compare the full name and tax ID (INN) in your Gosuslugi profile and in the domain record;
  • find out whether the owner's details changed after the domain was registered;
  • if necessary, update the information with the registrar so that it matches;
  • wait for the review result without duplicating the request.

For legal entities, the issue usually comes down to company details and representative rights – this case is covered in the article on domain identification for a legal entity.

When you need help

Sometimes discrepancies are not caused by an error in the profile but by the domain's history: a change of owner, outdated contacts, or details of a previous administrator. In such cases it makes sense not to work it out alone but to hand the matter to specialists who work with the registry every day.

We help bring the details in order, prepare the domain for linking, and complete the procedure without unnecessary repeats. What the work includes and how it is organized can be found on the service page "Linking a domain to Gosuslugi".
