01

General questions

How is DOMproxy different from a registrar?

A registrar handles routine operations through your account panel. We are a full-cycle domain bureau and broker: we take on complex and non-standard cases – an unreachable administrator, a dispute over rights, a domain held by a contractor, regaining access, buying and selling through a broker. We handle it end-to-end.

What domains and tasks do you work with?

Any task involving .ru, .рф and .su domains: changing the administrator, ownership transfer, regaining access, portfolio audits, brokerage, valuation and secure deals.

How much do your services cost?

Basic operations have a fixed price; complex cases and audits are priced for the result; brokerage is a commission plus the domain price. We state the scope of work, timelines and cost up front, with no hidden charges.

How do we get started?

Submit a request or give us a call. We'll work through the situation, give an honest assessment of the prospects and propose a plan of action. The initial consultation is no-obligation.

02

Changing the administrator and ownership transfer

What is changing the administrator, and when is it needed?

Changing the administrator means changing the person who manages the domain. It's needed when a domain is registered to someone other than its actual user: a former employee, a contractor or a previous owner.

How does changing the administrator differ from ownership transfer?

Changing the administrator changes the managing party; ownership transfer passes the domain to a different owner – for example, from an individual to a company. We'll advise which one fits your case.

The domain is registered to a former employee or contractor – can this be fixed?

In most cases, yes. We work through the situation, establish the legal grounds and the process, and return the domain to your company or to you. We assess the prospects before starting.

What documents are required?

It depends on the situation and the domain zone. Usually it's proof of rights to the domain and the parties' details. We'll provide the exact list after reviewing your case.

03

Regaining access

Lost access to the domain or the registrar account – can you help?

Yes. We'll establish what's still available – email, the contract, the administrator's data – build a recovery plan and get control of the domain back.

Can a domain be recovered if almost all the contact details are lost?

Sometimes, but not always. First we give an honest assessment of the chances, and only then take on the work. No empty promises.

04

Brokerage and deals

How do you buy a taken domain when the owner doesn't respond?

Through a broker. We find the real owner, negotiate under a neutral name and take it to a deal, if an agreement is realistic.

Why does anonymity matter in negotiations?

If the owner sees that a well-known company is interested in the domain, the price can multiply. A broker keeps the conversation neutral and protects your interests.

How does a secure deal work?

We agree on a price, run legal due diligence on the domain, process payment through a protected escrow arrangement and transfer the domain to you.

How much does the broker charge?

A commission plus the domain price. We state the commission and how we work up front, before negotiations begin.

Can a domain be checked before purchase?

Yes. We check the domain's history, rights, reputation and possible risks, and provide an assessment before the deal.

05

Identification under the law

What is domain administrator identification?

It is verification of the administrator of a .ru, .рф or .su domain through a verified Gosuslugi account (Russia's state services portal). If the administrator's data is in order, the procedure is simple.

Can I complete identification on my own?

Yes, if the administrator's data matches a verified Gosuslugi account. Difficulties arise when the name or tax ID does not match – and that is exactly where we help.

What kind of Gosuslugi account is needed?

A verified one. It can be verified through a bank, an MFC (public services center), Russian Post or an electronic signature.
